Volunteering in Granada Nicaragua
One on One Tutoring is involved with a number of local organizations that are seeking volunteers. Students who would like to take part in community activities may choose from various local programs. One such program is Cristo Sana, an orphanage for glue sniffing street boys. Another is Armonia, a daytime activities center for persons with disabilities.
Additionally, 10% of each student's tuition paid to One on One Tutoring will be donated to Casa Hogar Madre Albertina, a local home for 25 orphaned girls. The girls at Hogar Madre Albertina are always excited to receive volunteers. Volunteers are welcome to teach traditional classes, but are also encouraged to bring their own ideas and creative projects.
IMPORTANT: One on One Tutoring does not only offers volunteer opportunities to anyone interested in helping to improve the lives of the our people.
What for many people might be very little and close to nothing, things like a toothbrush, a tooth paste, a pencil, a note book, coloring pencils, coloring books, etc., does make a difference and is for our children a blessing.
Believe me when I say that you will really enjoy seeing their little faces light up full of joy when they get, from your very own hand, that little bit of affection you might be able to hand them over.
We encourage those who read our site not to come to us for Spanish tutoring only. We invite you to come to us with a bit of love. Bring to our children whatever you can spare and we will take you to them so you can personally give them that token of love and compassion that will come from your heart and will make a difference in their lives.
